Huge Brass General Electric Arc Type Searchlight

Large GE Brass Searchlight, complete with rotating and tilting base with handle to operte it from inside the pilothouse. Patented by General Electric, Schenectady, NY USA August 5th 1884, type C, class 12, No. 170 "Automatic Lamp". Heavy Bronze and Brass construction with 14 1/2 " Diameter front glass face. Vented sliding doors and tinted viewing port to adjust the Arc Flame created when powered up. Used aboard late 1800's Steamers.
