USLSS Life Saving Service Lyle Gun

USLSS 1883 Lyle Gun bearing the USCG 1937 Stamp when Relined for use as a Drill Gun. This is probably the only example of an actively used Lyle Gun that was actually used extensively by both the USLSS and the USCG over a 50 year span. This early Lyle Gun was cast at th West point foundry, and it bears the original carriage and Quion. What a unique and Historic item. It certainly saw plenty of use and was certainly used for many rescues during it lifetime before being converted to to a drill gun.
