U.S. LIGHTHOUSE ESTABLISHMENT BRASS KEEPER'S BASKET

Ca. 1890 early brass Keeper's Basket - very nice stamp "US LIghthouse Establishment" on lid. All brass construction and in very nice condition. These baskets were made in the Lamp Shop in Staten Island NY in the 1890's and every Lighthouse was issued one. Used by the keeper to hold wick trimming scissors, wicks, rouge for cleaning, matches, cleaning cloths, and parts for the burner and lamp. Missing the cloth loops long ago as 99% of these have. Does have all 4 brass feet on the bottom and interior is original and intact. In Pristine as-found condition, no polishing and full patina is present. Please call Steve at 810-599-5147.
