Beautiful original dated US Lighthouse Service 5-gallon metal oil can. Clearly stamped, dated 5-8-1935. Made by the SG Adams Metalware Company exclusively for the US Lighthouse Service to contain lamp oil. Also has the stamp: " Prop Number 117" - This one has the handle and cork stopper, and the markings are clear and crisp. Very rare as most of these were lost to scrap years ago or the tops cut off to make water buckets.
