US LIGHTHOUSE ESTABLISHMENT USLHE BAROMETER

Stock Number: #516

Description

CA.1895 -19th-century French brass nautical holosteric barometer. 5" in diameter and 2" deep with brass loop for wall hanging. Made by Naudet, Pertuis, Hulot, and Barom for the American market and retailed in San Francisco by Louis Weule Co., CA, 1895. The US Lighthouse Service ordered these finest available barometers from the French maker NPHB for use at select Lighthouses. We have not seen any other examples of this Barometer in any other Museums as yet. A scarce and desirable find. Excellent condition and functional. The dial is dirty but intact. No glass. The oldest example we have ever seen and very rare - no other like it anywhere we have found. Make an offer or call me at 810-599-5147
